New York, New York, USA

STATEMENT

Bill Liebeskind has worked primarily as a collage maker, printmaker and silkscreen artist. He readily appropriates imagery and text from current newspapers and old master painting and drawing and mixes the material with his own painting and drawing. Liebeskind compares and contrasts, looks for disparate images and ideas that can be united, weighs and measures. Liebeskind’s concern and focus is the human condition, past and present. In no way does he try to define, rather he is interested in showing what we already know and see in a new light, with the hope that a new understanding might emerge.
