STATEMENT

My collage work explores the female body as a whole; body and soul, subtlety and elegance counteracted with the strength and feminine power that become recurring research topics. Extrapolating feelings, sensations and experiences that generate a recontextualization of the feminine, of the story told or lived and that finally becomes my body of work.

The work starts from the observation of elements; magazines, newspapers, books and that make sense when joining them, is a constant lace of pieces that takes its own form, its own context, its own image, even its own sense, thus generating, for you and for me, a feeling and emotion other than that given in creation.

BIO

Designer with a concern to develop her art, Camila Jofré’s constant search led her to experiment with different techniques, up to collage, painting and embroidery.

Self-taught and multidisciplinary, she delved into her technique in workshops with different artists and completed a diploma in art at the Universidad Catolica in Chile.

In her works, observation is the starting point, de-contextualizing each element to create its own story, generating new senses and emotions.

She has exhibited her works in places like Chile, Spain, New York, and Paris.
