STATEMENT

Joaquín Sáenz Rojo greatly enjoys working with paper. He investigates the idea of beauty, focusing on the female role in mass media in the public domain.

He manipulates images manually, pulling ads from fashion magazines using a mix-and-match method out of which suddenly arises fascinating and funny new faces full of beauty, appearing by chance.

By repeating the same process with posters found in the street, he obtains the same effective and surprising kinds of images, but in large format with greater visual impact.
