STATEMENT

My works are created without AI and almost exclusively with my own images. I am not interested in impressing with visual effects. My images are poetry. I love to juxtapose elements that evoke different associations. The combination of the individual elements follows a logic similar to that found in dreams. Dreams are basically collages, too. I live with my 10-year-old son as a graphic designer, artist, and songwriter in a village near Stuttgart in southern Germany.

BIO

Matthias Jung was born in a village in northern Germany. After a sheltered childhood, he worked on a farm, traveled through Africa, and studied business administration. He tried to work in this profession, but ultimately found it boring. After many years of changing jobs, he decided to study graphic design and worked in this profession since 2013. His son was born in 2015. Since 2020, Matthias Jung has also been
working as a songwriter and journalist. The artist lives in southern Germany near Stuttgart.

He has been working as an artist for the past 30 years, initially as a painter. In 2007, he started creating digital collages. His first images were complex representations of medieval cities. Architecture has remained a central component of the images. His collages are often used for magazines, CD covers, book covers, and events, among other things. Things he likes: hiking, singing, daydreaming, blueberries, small islands, and good conversations. For him, life has never been a given.
