Mauricio Planel
Mauricio Planel STATEMENT Most of my works is born from a collective of information taken from newspapers, Internet, music and books. I determine an idea and I start looking for images which can translate graphically its emotion and message. As other collagists, I search in market flea, old book store, and the magazines, images that I cut and keep to future use. I have found in the Internet good image banks. BIO I was born in Montevideo, Uruguay but I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I have studied at Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes (Montevideo). I am an Illustrator and Collage is the technique I exclusively use in my work. From this technique, I use it traditionally, with scissors and glue, old paper, magazines, objects found in the street, but for editorial work I use Digital Collage which offers faster results, fundamentally for this client. I have participated in exhibitions, some individually, others collectively, in Brazil, Argentina, Belgium and Spain. I usually offer workshops for Graphic Design students, where I show them the large possibilities to use this technique. ARTIST CONTACT [click to email] IMAGES
