Future Days Past
10″x8.5″; paper on paper

STATEMENT

The themes of my work lean heavily toward the esoteric, allegorical, macabre and the absurd. I like to think of my collages as “Dream Transcription”, arranging symbols and “breaking images” in ways that strike the Imagination and the Subconscious.

These days, I am working with paper and glass. Affixing vintage and antique paper cutouts onto single or multiple panels of glass, which gives a new, intriguing depth to the narrative of the story/symbolism of the pieces.

BIO

I was born on the longest day of the year of 1971 in Greenville, South Carolina, USA and left there shortly after my 21st birthday.

For the next decade, I traveled between the Deep South, the Midwest and the West Coast, performing with experimental musical projects and creating artwork with many interesting friends. I’ve been living in Seattle, Washington since 2003, with my husband and two melodramatic Italian Greyhounds.

My life so far has been a vibrant yet sometimes harrowing journey on Chance’s coattails. I’ve been a collage-ist for as long as I can remember, an Absurdist and an acknowledged Eccentric since birth.

I am honored that my work has been exhibited in the US and abroad and has received nods of approval from several folks I respect greatly in the Creative Arts arenas.
