I collect 19th century photography, and I have a large collection of Victorian stereo cards.  I made the colleges I am submitting by combining digital drawings I created with scans of some of my vintage stereo cards. The series of ten cards, called “The Girl In The White Dress”, was made to be seen using a kinetic sculpture I built, called The Stereoptical Storytelling Machine.  To see the 3D effect, bring your nose close to the image, relax your eyes, and then slowly pull away until the 3D image pops into view in the centre of your field of vision.

I am a painter, book illustrator, kinetic sculptor, graphic novelist, art educator and political cartoonist.  I am a 7th generation Vermonter and have been exhibiting my work in the region since 1978.  I was the art teacher at the Browns River Middle School in Jericho, Vermont from 1981 to 2012, and was the president of the Northern Vermont Artist Association from 1995 to 2011.  I have illustrated books for authors Joseph A. Citro, Elaine Segal, Mark Pendergrast, and John Paterson.  My political cartoon strip, “Mr. Brunelle Explains It All”, appears monthly in Funny Times and weekly on the website of Humor Times.
