Sarah Davidson
Sarah Davidson STATEMENT Sarah Davidson works primarily on paper and is interested in exploring fragments as symbols, medium as gendered, and maps as they exist in lived time. In Sarah Davidson’s recent work, silk-screened, drawn, and collaged works on paper are fashioned into a sculptural installation. Using linear shelves as an organizing principal, the works simultaneously suggest the presentation of a collection of plates and the structure of a narrative. Making reference to turn of the century comics, art historical drawings, and household crafts, the artist suggests possibilities born of rearranging parallel, underrepresented cultural histories. BIO Sarah Davidson is an artist based in Vancouver, Canada. Her recent solo exhibitions include projects with Chernoff Fine Art, Project Space, and WePress Gallery. Recent group exhibitions include a collaborative installation at Dynamo Arts Association as well as shows at the Audain Gallery and Gallery Gatchet.
