Detailed images from natural and artificial worlds are arranged to celebrate beauty and remind us of shared physical, emotional and spiritual space. Singed marks imply a cleansing flame. Soft\/hard, pretty\/ugly go together. Works are guided by texture, color, storytelling, humor, and awe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laura Klopfenstein is a mixed media artist living in Austin, Texas. She uses collage and assemblage to explore social and environmental inequalities. Works are playful with a bite\u2013symbols, human and organic imprints are combined to form a compelling, tactile, and quietly explosive composition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
