STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my work, I like to think of images as objects, so I\u2019m mainly interested in the materiality of analog collage and analog photography. What is important for me about objects is that they work as triggers for memory, and memory is one of the main topics I explore through my film practice. I’m constantly trying to find a dialogue\u00a0between the different mediums I work on. I explore the expressiveness of fragmenting the human body to find new ways to interpret what a body can be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BIO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soledad Violeta was born in Mexico City in 1989. She graduated as a filmmaker from the Escuela Nacional de Artes Cinematogr\u00e1ficas, UNAM and as a screenwriter from The London Film School. She has written and directed several short films, highlighting Puertas<\/em> (2016), which was part of the Official Selection of the XVI Morelia Film Festival, and other festivals. She was selected to take part in the 10th Talents Guadalajara as a screenwriter. She participated in the 9th LabGuion Colombia with her project Fantasmas<\/em>. Her collage work has been exhibited in group shows and in independent digital publications. She is the recipient of a scholarship from the FONCA J\u00f3venes Creadores (Mexico’s National fund for culture and the arts, Young Creators Program) (2021-2022).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
