STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My work as a visual artist is closely connected with my poetic work. The themes I address range from introspection, solitude, and relationships with others to issues related to social advocacy, LGBTQIA+ rights, personal and collective self-determination, migration, and mental health. The materials I use mainly come from the streets (posters, pieces of walls, etc.). I have a particular interest in recycling what people generally consider no longer usable, recombining colors and textures to give them new meaning, and immersing my reflections on paper in the vibrations of the big city: giving them new life and new energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BIO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stefano Carbone was born in Bari, Italy in 1987 and is a poet, writer, and collage artist based in Madrid. He holds a degree in Literature and Journalism from the Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro and a master\u2019s degree in Tourism and Business Management from the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela. He wrote his undergraduate thesis in Ribera Sacra, Galicia on medieval art history and has lived in Spain since then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He previously worked as a journalist for several cultural information websites, specializing in human and LGBTQIA+ rights. He currently dedicates his time to art and poetry and teaches creative poetic writing in the Italian language at the Percorsi Creativi Academy. He also organizes poetry and collage workshops and collaborates with public institutions on cultural initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is the author of two bilingual poetry collections: Tierra Prometida<\/em> (La Poes\u00eda Mancha, Madrid, 2022) and CaliX<\/em> (Averso, Granada, 2024), presented in Spain, Italy, Mexico, and Colombia. He also co-coordinated the charity poetry anthology Versos contra el genocidio<\/em> (Petalurgia, 2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His literary work received an honorary mention at the 11th Trilingual Juan Pedro L\u00f3pez Literary Contest in Montevideo, Uruguay in 2025. As a collage artist, he was awarded Best Visual Artist at the 2025 Santa Mar\u00eda Rock Festival of music and arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has participated in international festivals such as Voix Vives (Toledo, Spain, 2023), La Notte Bianca della Poesia (Giovinazzo, Italy, 2025), and Chiostri e Inchiostri (Noci, Italy, 2025). His collage works have been exhibited in Spain, Italy, Brazil, and Mexico and published in international art magazines, including ABC Cultural<\/em>, where one of his collages was selected as a cover image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
