STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

My work explores the relationship between the physical and metaphysical realities that make up our universe, and all the dualities therein. Collage especially creates doorways to the accidental–the incongruous, the fantastical, the miraculous–because images that don’t go together can be juxtaposed to make sense on a non-temporal level. When I exit the regular world and enter the spiritual world, my brain jumps–or something else jumps and my brain gets out of the way. For me, and hopefully for viewers, collage is a jumping exercise: how to see one thing in the form of another, how to see one world in the form of another, sudden and clear as a revelation.<\/p>\n

BIO<\/strong><\/p>\n

I’m a poet, painter, draw-er, collagist, and meditator. Since I received my BFA in Creative Writing in 2010, I framed and curated my first two solo art exhibitions (“Small Things”, 2010, and “Enzo: Bowl that Holds the Universe”, 2011), certified as a yoga teacher at the 500 hour level, and published sunmoon<\/em>, a chapbook printed by burgeoning Oak Press. Currently, I\u2019m conducting MFA research and studio work inspired by Indian painting and textiles, yoga, and cows at the University of Calgary, with generous support from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. I divide my time among Calgary,\u00a0India, and the Gulf Islands.<\/p>\n
