STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I aim to explore the intersections of memory, identity, and perception by reimagining the human figure and its relationship to shadow. Photography serves as the foundation, but my process is rooted in mixed media and collage, a practice that allows me to disrupt and reconfigure reality into layered narratives. By juxtaposing one image against another, I invite viewers into a space where stories unfold loosely, inviting personal interpretation and introspection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BIO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paula Siwek is an artist-educator with an MFA from Pratt Institute. Her 30-year teaching career, beginning at North Carolina State University, is a seasoned visual arts educator and photographer who offers transformative workshops through photography, mixed media, and collage. Currently, her photographs are in the Julia Margaret Cameron Awards at Fotonostrum in Barcelona. In print, her photographs are featured in White Fence<\/em>, a collaboration of photography and ekphrastic writing published by Window Press in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
