STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My canvas is a vibrant stage, where life\u2019s conversations burst into color and texture. I\u2019m Glenyse Thompson, a Florida-based artist weaving stories of connection, whispering secrets with bold brushstrokes, and laughing with rhythmic lines. Using inks, hand-drawn lines, and collage techniques, my artistic threads stretch beyond the studio. Every day inspires me\u2014the stolen glances across cafe tables, the quiet understanding in a shared smile, the symphony of voices weaving through bustling streets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are nothing without each other,\u201d I often say, and my art echoes that truth. Walls transform into tapestries, alive with the kaleidoscope of emotions that bind us. I paint the unspoken, the shared moments that make us human.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I want you to stop, to truly see the poetry in a fleeting moment. To hear the laughter in brushstrokes, the whispered trust in textured layers. Because, in the end, we\u2019re all weavers in this tapestry of life, and every thread\u2014every interaction\u2014matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BIO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glenyse Thompson is a Florida-based artist whose work spans contemporary original art and design. Inspired by people and conversations, her artwork combines vibrant use of colors and textures, conveying the exuberant connections we have with each other and our environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a multidisciplinary artist, Glenyse believes their art practice has everything to do with how we interact daily. \u201cConversation is something we would miss if not happening, yet we rarely stop to think how much value we should place on it. We are nothing without each other, we are nothing without conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is included in the coffee table books published by Art Lives Here and Art Queens, Volume II. Her artwork was commissioned for inclusion in the Southern Living Idea Home, and her work was featured in the September 2023 issue of Southern Living Magazine<\/em>. Her artwork is shown in Architectural Digest<\/em>, \u201cIn Focus: Legacy of Black Women Makers.\u201d Home d\u00e9cor firm Brewster Wallcoverings collaborated on a capsule collection, \u201cA-Street Prints x Glenyse Thompson Wall Mural Collection.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of \u201cThe Welcome Space\u201d for Black Artists and Designers Guild\u2019s \u201cObsidian Experience,\u201d her artwork was featured in Town and Country Magazine<\/em> and subsequently included in Elle Decoration UK<\/em>, Metropolis Magazine<\/em>, California Design and Home<\/em>, Houzz<\/em>, Hunker<\/em>, Design Milk<\/em>, and Aspire Home and Design<\/em>. Commissions include cover art for Designers Today<\/em> magazine and Great Guns London<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glenyse has been interviewed for Martha Stewart Magazine<\/em>, Design Milk<\/em> \u201cMilkshake\u201d series, and she appeared as a featured artist for WEDU Arts Plus, a nationally syndicated television program on the PBS network. Her artwork is in the collection of Boston Children\u2019s Hospital, and private collections. Exhibition history includes \u201cVisions in Black,\u201d Suncoast Black Arts Collective; \u201cMany Americas: Art Meets History,\u201d Southern Vermont Arts Center, and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
