STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am intrigued by the space between real and surreal, the ambiguity created when disparate images collide, how beauty becomes odd, the sublime unnerving and the serious whimsical.<\/p>\n

I first incorporated collage in painting, then through film, and at present in pure cut and paste style.<\/p>\n

I work playfully and instinctively with a strong desire for tonal and aesthetic unity, latent meanings and narrative manifest themselves slowly and on a more subconscious level.<\/p>\n

Excited by the mystery of found images and the disorientating effect of juxtaposition, the element of chaos and chance is what inspires me the most, stumbling upon unconnected images that together make sense and no sense at all, have meaning and are meaningless, can be serious but don’t take themselves too seriously.<\/p>\n

BIO<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have been exploring the art of collage for the past 10 years alongside other work and studies which touch on the worlds of theatre, interiors, film and music.<\/p>\n

My first collage work to be exhibited was a short collage film, Everything and the Kitchen Sink<\/em>, which was recently shown again at Whitechapel Gallery, London, as part of the “Desire Delirium Dada” film screening event coinciding with the Hannah Hoch exhibition in 2014.<\/p>\n

Other more recent exhibitions were with the Collagistes Collective’s “Return to Splendor” show; a solo show at Sloupe, Southwest London; and a group show at the Cul De Sac Gallery, London.<\/p>\n

I am one of the artists represented by ink_d gallery in Brighton.<\/p>\n
