STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sofya’s collages are intense, detailed layers of stained and tinted papers, cultural ephemera in the form of vintage magazines and found photographs, and painstakingly cut out, original naturalistic drawings. Sofya’s work explores the development of narrative and mood between the material and image.<\/p>\n

BIO<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sofya Mirvis (SOFYASPACE) is a mixed media artist living and working in Philadelphia.\u00a0 Her work combines surreal landscape with figurative elements and an urban aesthetic. Born in Russia, her images reflect themes of Eastern folklore, Western opulence and phenomenology of nature.<\/p>\n
