STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

My newest collection of collages entitled “In Search of Treasure” explores our relationship to landscape using mineral specimens as terrain to be contemplated, explored, enjoyed, or conquered. I have often fantasized about shrinking down and adventuring over the surfaces of a really great rock I have found, and I wanted to express this fantasy through these surrealist moments that encourage the viewer to derive their own narrative, and to possibly place themselves in the tiny landscape that they see before them. <\/p>\n

BIO<\/strong><\/p>\n

I live in Los Angeles and spend a lot of time exploring in nature when I\u2019m not working in the studio. I have exhibited with spaces such as LA Louver, the UCLA Hammer Museum, and Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions. In the past few years I have been pursuing my solo practice in painting and collage. My six-month solo residency at Occidental College (Los Angeles) last year really pushed me to narrow my focus and I am in the process of publishing my first children\u2019s book which I have written and illustrated. <\/p>\n
