STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

My collages are sourced from a collection of vintage erotic magazines that I have been collecting. I developed the idea to revisit this imagery from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s with humour and a shift in viewpoint. My starting point is always the body. I spot kitsch poses that lend themselves to appropriation and then I build, deconstruct, and superimpose. For each assembly, I associate only two or three elements, always showing the white of the paper.<\/p>\n

BIO<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nina Scceletton grew up on the island of Reunion. She studied design and fine arts the Ecole des beaux-arts of Toulon. She began by developing introspective works centered on the intimate, which has evolved over time to collages that feature vintage images and offbeat, sassy or dark humour, which question the representation of sex and the female body. She has shown work in several group exhibitions in Paris and in Provence. She has also published work in fanzines, catalogues and an artist’s book.<\/p>\n
