STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My recent work incorporates hand cut collage with mixed media elements including paint, stenciling and image transfers. I then photograph these elements and continue to layer and distort them digitally. The finished project is then printed on canvas for display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BIO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christa Capua is an artist and therapist, and the two pursuits are intertwined. The artwork is an exploration of subconscious archetypes and spirituality. Her influences range from Robert Rauschenberg and Joseph Cornell to Swoon and Ryan McGinnis. She graduated with a BFA in Painting and Drawing from Bennington College and received her Masters Degree in Counseling from Florida International University. Christa divides her time between Asheville, North Carolina and Miami, Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
