FROM KOLAJ #20
Pauline Tonglet’s Artist Portfolio
Pauline Tonglet excels at these dynamic compositions and narratives. Densely packed, her collage affords the viewer a rich tableau to explore. She says of fragments, “Their proximity and new neighbourhoods generate a different message, another truth.” She is successful because she understands this fundamental tenet of collage and employs it masterfully.
A giant, god-like hand holds a gas station so it floats in a sea of blue sky. The flat roof of the gas station holds a pool of gold glitter. The station’s sign announces itself to potential motorists flying through the clouds.
Pauline Tonglet lives and works in Namur, Belgium. She studied Graphic Arts at the École Superieure des Arts Saint-Luc in Liège. See more of her work at her Kolaj Magazine Artist Directory page and at www.paulinetonglet.com.
