Collage Artists of America makes a smooth transition into Fall with two exhibitions and a workshop. Their current “Summer 2016 Juried Member Exhibit” showcasing 67 selected artworks (on view through 29 October) at the Encino Terrace Center, a prestigious commercial complex in Encino, California, is followed by their Juried National Open 2016 “Altered States of Collage”. This eclectic Fall exhibition, opening 15 November and running through 3 December, will feature two and three-dimensional collage, mixed-media collage and assemblage works by collagists from throughout the United States. Juror Leslie Shows, an American artist recognized for expanding the boundaries of landscape painting through abstracted mixed-media collage, will also be CAA’s special Guest Speaker in November. Concurrent with the exhibit’s closing days, internationally renowned artist and instructor Robert Burridge will conduct a 3-day workshop for the group. (National Open and Workshop will be held at the San Fernando Valley Arts & Cultural Center in Tarzana, California.)

Collage Artists of America, a California nonprofit public benefit corporation, was founded in 1988 by nine trailblazing women artists and now has over 150 members nationwide. Learn more at www.collageartists.org and www.sfvacc.org.
