Postal-Collage Project

Round Table [Collaboration] project founder Marty McCutcheon has begun work on Postal-Collage Project #7. This collaborative collage making involves 200 artists who are producing work between September 2017 and February 2018. Artists work in groups of five. Each artist starts a collage and contributes to four others. The finished collages will be displayed at three or more venues in Spring-Summer 2018.

About the genesis of the project, McCutcheon said “The method offers a blend of independent, autonomous creativity, with the responsibility and interaction of collaboration. After seeing…kids make terrific collaborative drawings while working together at a circular table, I thought my friends and colleagues might want to play the same game…across town, throughout the region, and around the world.” McCutcheon also said, “I want to encourage generosity. It requires generosity to contribute time and energy to works-in-progress, knowing that your contributions may not remain when the piece is completed. It also requires generosity to allow others…to a work-in-progress that will…be yours to complete.” To learn more about the Postal-Collage Project, past projects and how to participate, visit www.roundtablecollaboration.com.
