COLLAGE ON VIEW
Virginie Maltais
at Galerie Kokë in Rosemère, Quebec, Canada
8 August-16 September 2018
Virginie Maltais, who holds a BA from the Université de Montréal, creates dreamlike collages with intuitive gestures. In each work, intimate worlds are formed from a burst of spontaneous colours. Its symbolic language is expressed there, space is inhabited by the sensuality of moving bodies, vortices, piercing glances and hands that speak for themselves by their gestures. Everything comes alive with poetry, between the strength and the softness of fluid elements (water) and nature (flowers, fruits, stars). The artist gives access to an inner world where one can simultaneously lose oneself and find oneself again.
