Atlanta Collage Society: “Adhesives”
2 March-30 April 2017

“We are calling this show ‘Adhesives’ to highlight the basic element of collage, which is glue, and that as artists we are connected to one another through the shared bonds of originality and creativity, individuality and diversity,” said Ellen Kierr Stein, president of the Atlanta Collage Society and of the Artists Atelier Gallery & Studios.

The Atlanta Collage Society supports its members in part through professional development activities. One of its priorities is to have four exhibits a year to increase awareness of collage as an art medium and to help mentor its member artists on presentation techniques and marketing.

The Artists Atelier Gallery & Studios is one of the oldest working artists’ studios in Atlanta, with 30 years of history in the arts community. The studio has 17 visual artists working on site in individual studio spaces and a gallery that produces six shows a year of fine art produced by Georgia artists.

“This will be the second show by the Atlanta Collage Society at the Artists Atelier gallery,” said Stein. “It is a perfect example of the continuing collaboration between two local arts organizations that care about increasing exposure for a wide variety of art mediums.”
