Ashkan Honarvar: “Invisible Lines”

“The body, torn by acts of war, exploited by the sex industry or used as a tool for seeking identity, is the focal point of Ashkan Honarvar’s work. This constitutes a search for a universal representation of the evil latent in every human, providing an opportunity for reflection. Honarvar’s aesthetic dissection has an intriguing macabre nature, which opens the images to interpretation.” – Titus Verheijen

“Invisible Lines” is comprised of hand-cut collages on paper from several of Ashkan Honarvar’s recent bodies of work. The Iranian-born artist lives and works in Trondheim, Norway. This is his first solo exhibition in Los Angeles and second solo show with CES Contemporary.

The exhibition takes place in the gallery’s Focus Space.
