A Northwest Collage Showcase
June 2016

Curated by Kevin Sampsell, this show at the legendary Powell’s Bookstore features some of the best collage art by artists living in the Northwest, including Jesse Treece, Cory Peeke, A. M. O’Malley, Kurtiss Lofstrom, Ruth E Fox, Rachel Eaton, Nicolette Lind, Lita Kenyon, Jay Berrones, Harold McNaron, and Evan Clayton Horback.

“Since becoming infatuated with collage art a couple of years ago, I was always excited when I found people around the Northwest doing the kind of stuff I love, whether it was on-line or in local galleries. And in 2014, I started hosting the monthly Open Collage Night at the Independent Publishing Resource Center, which also has turned into a great place to connect with many Portland-area people creating collages. This show is my first curated group show and joins together longtime collage heroes like Kurtiss Lofstrom and Jesse Treece with newer artists like Rachel Eaton and Jay Berrones. And it’s especially exciting to do this show at the world’s largest new and used bookstores, where tons of people will see the work.” –Kevin Sampsell
