RE-BOP!: Obstructions and Disruptions

“RE-BOP! Obstructions & Disruptions” embraces the unexpected through visual, rhythmic, emotional, and conceptual disruptions. “RE-BOP!” is the third iteration of “Bop!”, the celebrated collage exhibition series conceived initially by artist Tony Fitzpatrick, showcasing the parallel ideas of flow in both music and collage, where intuition, playful abandon, and spur-of-the-moment change and happenstance are embraced with artistic fervor and verve. “RE-BOP!” looks at the notion of unexpected, disrupted, and obstructed collage-making.

The exhibition was curated by Todd Bartel, Paloma Trecka, and Cut Me Up magazine.
During the opening reception on 11 July 2025, 6-8PM, saxophonist, improviser, and composer, Mai Sugimoto will provide live music. Sugimoto draws inspiration from her upbringing in Japan and her roots in jazz to compose and perform from her unique multicultural experience.
