suchitra-mattai-coincidental-ties-web“Visitation”: resident artists of RedLine
17 June-17 July 2016

Collage artists Libby Barbee and Suchitra Mattai are among eight featured artists in “Visitation” at grayDUCK Gallery in Austin, Texas. The exhibition presents work from eight resident artists of RedLine, a prolific Colorado contemporary art center in Denver. Through diverse media ranging from video to painting to installation, the show contains themes of time, memory, and a reconfiguring of humans in nature, the quotidian and the alien. The often surrealistic presentation of cultural debris and lived experiences elicits a re-examination of humankind and attributed meanings.

In addition to Mattai and Barbee, “Visitation” features Sandra Fettingis, Jennifer Ghormley, Daisy Patton, George P. Perez, Evan Mann, and Jodi Stuart.
