Image courtesy of Berta Walker Gallery, Provincetown<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>FROM KOLAJ 31<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Varujan Boghosian (1926-2020)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Kolaj Magazine<\/em> mourns the loss of Varujan Boghosian, who died at his home in Hanover, New Hampshire on September 21, 2020. Varujan Boghosian was born in New Britain, Connecticut in 1926. A student of Vesper George School of Art and Yale University, he was the recipient of a Fulbright and a Guggenheim Fellowship. His work is in numerous public collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. In <em>Kolaj<\/em> 16, Andr\u00e9 van der Wende profiled Boghosian on the occasion of turning ninety. He wrote, \u201cBoghosian explored construction and collage with lyrical play and emotive depth for over six decades, and still works and fires in the studio most days.\u201d Boghosian was a member of the Rio Blanco Riders, a trio of artists who met in Vermont to play Exquisite Corpse. David Powell wrote about the trio in <em>Kolaj<\/em> 7.
