A child of artists, Baker grew up in Sea Gate, Brooklyn near the Skee Ball lanes and roller coasters of Coney Island before the resort community was transformed by urban renewal programs. She writes, \u201cMy creative driving force is without a doubt a very potent Coney Island; it appealed to my sense of the freakish, with its striking vibrancy, oversaturated colors, and deterioration. This trinity of life: death, hope and vibrance has satisfied in me a deeper understanding of the sublime clarity of civilization. Her work has been shown across the US and at the 2019-2020 Sharjah Islamic Arts Festival. The Metropolitan Transit Authority Arts &amp; Design commissioned Baker for work (fabricated in stainless steel) at two train stations in Brooklyn. Her work is held in numerous public and private collections in the US and internationally. She is also a curator. In 2019, she co-curated \u201cParticulate Matter\u201d with Etty Yaniv at Project: ARTspace in New York. The artist lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
