The 2nd International Collage Days (2\u00e8mes Journ\u00e9es Internationales du Collage) at Espace Monet Rollinat features the work of thirty artists from Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Cuba, France, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Russia, Slovenia, and Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collage is old technique that over the years has become an art form, an intermediary between photographs, paintings, and other materials. During the heyday of Cubism, Dadaism, and the rise of Futurism in Italy, the collage medium underwent a significant transformation in response to the desire to produce works more quickly. \u201cArt is a reflection of society,\u201d says exhibition curator St\u00e9phane Guibert. Historically, collage has always accompanied modernity. \u201cToday students leave school with a devotion to the art of collage, which in turn gains momentum and popularity worldwide,\u201d says Guibert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
