Sound & Vision: Print Magazine<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Deadline: Monday, 17 April 2023<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\/DRI:M\/SPACE<\/a>, an art platform dedicated to elevating collage and the artists working in the medium, has issued an Open Call for the second issue of the print magazine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collagists are challenged to enter works that fit the brief: Sound & Vision, co-curated by Mark Watkins<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark Watkins writes: The “cut up” writing technique made famous by author William S. Burroughs inspired the likes of David Bowie, Kurt Cobain and Radiohead\u2019s Thom Yorke–cutting out sentences, phrases and words and rearranging them to create lyrics for poetry and songs. Lyrical collage!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this Call to Artists:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Choose a favourite song. Select one line from the lyrics and let that be the inspiration for a collage. Include the chosen lyric with your submission. Dust off your vinyl or plug in the iPod, but be sure to turn up the volume!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entry Process:<\/strong>
All open call entries require a non-refundable submission fee: $5 for 1 entry, $10 for 2+ entries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All participants will receive a copy of the DIGIMAG (normally $10.99!), the same stunning publication as the print edition in a responsive digital flip-book format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This non-refundable submission fee goes towards printing costs, design, shipping supplies, and hosting fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*\/DRI:M\/SPACE does not want to deter anyone from participating due to the submission fee! Please send an email<\/a> and they will work it out with you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entry Format:<\/strong>
High-res images at 300dpi minimum, which is suitable for soft & hard-copy publications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Share your entry on Instagram using the hashtag #drimspacesoundandvision and inspire other artists with your entries!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other Details to Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selected artists will be notified via email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Personal invites will be extended to a selection of open call winners to collaborate on Issue 03 and, in return for their participation, will receive a double-page artist spread with bio\/statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One collagist will be chosen to grace the cover of Issue 02 and will be the next co-curator for \/DRI:M\/SPACE Issue 03.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
