“Hannelore Baron” is a solo exhibition of collages, box assemblages, and monoprints dating from 1970 to 1986. Focusing on the artist\u2019s singular visual language of signs, symbols, and ciphers,\u00a0“Hannelore Baron”\u00a0provides an in-depth look at her personal iconography and material sensibility. A dedicated display featuring a selection of the unique cutouts the artist used to make the monoprints\u00a0integral to her compositional approach provides a special insight into her technical processes. Presenting thirty-eight collages, fifteen box assemblages, and three monoprints,\u00a0“Hannelore Baron”\u00a0is accompanied by a fully illustrated exhibition catalogue publishing new scholarship by art historian, professor, and curator Anne Koval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Art of Assemblage” is a group exhibition organized in homage to The Museum of Modern Art\u2019s groundbreaking 1961 exhibition of the same name curated by William C. Seitz. Presenting a selection of works that mirror and expound upon Seitz\u2019s medium-defining exhibition, the gallery\u2019s iteration of\u00a0“The Art of Assemblage”\u00a0demonstrates the incisiveness and prescience of his thesis. Featured artists include Mary Bauermeister, Lee Bontecou, Bruce Conner, Joseph Cornell, Arthur Dove, Melvin Edwards, Claire Falkenstein, Ilse Getz, Nancy Grossman, Edward Kienholz, Yayoi Kusama, Conrad Marca-Relli, Louise Nevelson, Alfonso Ossorio, Betye Saar, Lucas Samaras, Richard Stankiewicz, Lenore Tawney, Laurence Vail, and Vaclav Vytlacil.<\/em> This exhibition is on view concurrently with the solo exhibition\u00a0“Hannelore Baron”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
