Atelier Sinthetico, hosted by artists Ho Monteiro and Humberto Dutra, presents Silvio Severino’s “\u00c9 DADA, Meu Bem!” (It’s DADA, baby!). Severino, also known as loop_conspiracy<\/a>, has been living in Europe for almost 25 years and currently resides in Cork, Ireland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The title of the exhibition, loaded with irony and humour, is a sharp reflection on the ongoing debate about what constitutes art, and more specifically, the role of collage as a legitimate and powerful form of artistic expression. Severino, known for his bold and innovative approach, uses collage to explore the complexities of contemporary society and sexuality, which are central themes in his work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heavily influenced by Dadaism, Surrealism, punk aesthetics, Pop Art, and popular culture, Severino presents in this exhibition, his first in his hometown of Porto Alegre and in Brazil, a unique perspective on his work, revealing his critique of contemporary society and his innovative approach to visual culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a blend of sarcasm and critique, the artist deconstructs preexisting images and creates new visual narratives that question consumerism, identity, and issues of gender and sexuality. His collages, which combine elements of nostalgia with a futuristic touch, invite the audience to reevaluate everyday life from a new perspective, always with a hint of irreverent humour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
