Emily Denlinger: Gain of Function: New Mutation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Emily Denlinger’s collage artwork explores the human condition: issues of identity, survival, truth, and power. In this installation, Denlinger shares her work New Mutations\/Old Traditions<\/em>, part of her “Gain of Function: New Mutation” series. The expansive collage is an exploration of masked traditions that take place around the world, as simultaneous inventions, to invite positivity into a community and expel negative forces. “Gain of Function: New Mutation” is an ongoing series created in response to research surrounding the intersections of ecology, simulations, mutations, and futurology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the exhibition, on 21 November 2024, the public was invited to guide composer Frank Nawrot as he created a live soundtrack to go with New Mutations\/Old Traditions<\/em>. Audience members manipulated elements of the score: images and musical notation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
