Starting in 2022, Philadelphia CollageWorks has engaged in a citywide undertaking to demonstrate the power of collage and forge a connection between diverse groups. Fourteen community partners hosted eighteen events during which diverse groups created 5″x5″ collage squares. Every participant joined together, making art in profound and personal ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The art of collage provided an opportunity to express emotions, share ideas, extend a message and have fun. The result is nearly 500 squares, each a unique expression, coming together on the north wall of the 5th floor gallery at Philadelphia’s City Hall, in a quilt-like display that is the outcome of a 5″ square-making event for World Collage Day 2022 held at DaVinci Art Alliance. The artwork of Philadelphia CollageWorks members is on display on the south wall of the 5th floor gallery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
