They embrace the fleeting–the shift of a season, cycles of birth and death among all, the wonderfulness of love, and the sad, beautiful, craziness that is the experience of living. Their practice of making art seeks to capture that which is elusive–to create a moment of stillness in the midst of the inexorable forward movement of time. Through their own personal driving forces, studio practice, and medium, each artist deals with this idea.

Come See Our Garden by Missy Arellano
12″x12″; analog collage on paper with acrylic markers. This exhibition is taking place at a time of year when everything appears quiet and still, beneath the surface, natural changes are underway in preparation for new beginnings–spring. Seeds, bulbs, and beans contain all the energy they need to germinate, grow, and bloom when the conditions are right–and just as the first flower forms–that moment, where the possibility of what is about to emerge becomes endless and magical, nothing is as yet past.

A still, still as the world is never still.

(text adapted from material provided by the gallery)

INFORMATION

Cambridge Art Association Canal Gallery
25R Lowell Street
Cambridge, Massachusetts 02138 USA
(617) 876-0246

Hours:
Wednesday-Friday, Noon-4PM
Saturday, 10AM-2PM

MAP | WEBSITE | INSTAGRAM

COLLAGE ON VIEW Still as the World is Never Still at the Cambridge Art Association Canal Gallery, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA22 January-20 February 2026 This exhibition brings together ten artists whose works explore the concept of holding onto what cannot be…

[11
http://kolajmagazine.com/content/content/collage-exhibitions/collage-at-100-strange-glue-traditional-avant-garde-collage-at-thompson-gallery-at-the-cambridge-school-of-weston/
“Collage at 100: Strange Glue, Traditional &
