The group exhibition “Journeys” brings together works by collective members alongside an international open call, exploring themes of migration, movement, memory, and transformation through the medium of collage. Installed within a 19th-century stagecoach inn along the Humber River, the exhibition engages with the site’s historical significance as a place of transit and exchange. This context deepens the exhibition’s focus on journeys, both physical and metaphorical, highlighting stories of displacement, identity, and belonging.

Two Trunks by Robert Aloe
12″x9″; paper analog collage; 2026. Bringing together members of the Toronto Collage Collective alongside international artists, the exhibition positions collage as a global language and Toronto as a meeting point of layered histories and lived experiences. Presented in dialogue with the 2026 Doors Open Toronto theme, “The World in a City,” the exhibition reflects on Toronto as a place shaped by migration, layered histories, and diverse cultural voices. Through collage, an art form built from fragments, “Journeys” mirrors the city itself: a mosaic of memories, identities, and lived experiences brought together in one shared space.

Curated by Daria Beer.

(text adapted from material provided by the gallery)

INFORMATION

Lambton House
4066 Old Dundas Street
Toronto, Ontario M6S 2R6 Canada
(416) 767-5472

Hours:
Thursday, 14 May, doors open at 7:30PM
Friday, 15 May, 1-3PM
Saturday-Sunday, 23-24 May, 10AM-4PM
for other times or to plan a visit, leave a message at (416) 767-5472 or email admin@lambtonhouse.org

MAP | WEBSITE | INSTAGRAM

COLLAGE ON VIEW Journeys at Lambton House in Toronto, Ontario Canada30 April-31 May 2026 Presented by the Toronto Collage Collective at Historic Lambton House.
