John Paul Gardner: Finding Balance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

John Paul Gardner\u2019s newest series of mixed-media works are created from traditional media, as well as found vintage materials, including old textbooks, paper, and magazines. Gardner\u2019s selected imagery is charts, maps, and astronomy diagrams. Through cutting, tearing, combining, painting, and drawing these elements, the resulting series explores his relationship to nature, both present and remembered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John is an internationally exhibited, award-winning mixed-media artist whose work explores the interplay of nature and geometric abstraction. His notable solo exhibitions include \u201cIn Starlight\u201d at the Peru State College Gallery in Peru, NE; \u201cVignettes\u201d at the Umpqua Art Center in Roseburg, OR; and \u201cDissolve\u201d at the Portland Building Installation Space in Portland, Oregon. Recent juried exhibitions include \u201cMade in New York\u201d; \u201cMerged: d\u2019Art\u2019s\u201d in Virginia; \u201cPost It,\u201d Coupee in Belgium; and \u201cWorks on Paper\u201d at Project Gallery in Toronto. He holds an MFA from the University of Oregon and a BFA from SUNY Potsdam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
