Inspiration emerged for this exhibition when Elspeth Halvorsen was invited to create a huge one-person exhibition at the Provincetown Art Association and Museum (24 May-7 July 2013) and Varujan Boghosian was asked to curate the very beautiful, impressive and sensitive result. Additionally, Edward Giobbi, who joined the Berta Walker Gallery two years ago, is a long-time friend and associate of Halvorsen’s and Boghosian’s, also working in this unusual method. Thus, this one-of-a-kind exhibition came into being.

(from the gallery’s press materials)

INFORMATION

Berta Walker Gallery
208 Bradford Street
Provincetown, Massachusetts 02657 USA
(508) 487-6411

Hours:
Through 12 June 2013, Wednesday-Monday, Noon-4PM
1 July-16 September, daily, 11AM-6PM
Always by appointment and often by chance

MAP | WEBSITE | FACEBOOK

Image:
Up Yours, Irene
by Edward Giobbi
31.25″x47.5″
collaged paintings
Image courtesy of Berta Walker Gallery, Provincetown, Massachusetts

24 May-16 June 2013

“Recovered Poetry: Three Masters of Construction and Collage” presents the work of Varujan Boghosian, Edward Giobbi, and Elspeth Halvorsen, who, in their over-80 years of artmaking, have created international reputations for their unusual and transcendent art.

[11

http://kolajmagazine.com/content/wp-content/uploads/Ed-Giobbi-Up-Yours-Irene-collage-of-paintings-31-14-x-47-12-web.jpg
Berta Walker Gallery Leads the Charge to Celebrate Iconic Collage Artist Varujan Boghosian Varujan Boghosian turns 90 this year and Berta Walker Gallery in Provincetown, Massachusetts is hosting a series of exhibitions and events celebrating the iconic bricoleur.
