We know collage is “hot” right now, but here’s a story about a collage work that is “hot” for different reasons.<\/p>\n

Vancouver’s daily newspaper\u00a0The Province<\/a><\/em>\u00a0reported that a collage was stolen in broad daylight, between Noon and 2PM on Wednesday, 23 October, from UNIT\/PITT Projects<\/a>\u00a0in downtown Vancouver.<\/p>\n

The work, Portrait of the Future King<\/em>\u00a0(24″x30″) by Bracken Hanuse Cornett, was part of the “God Save the Queen” show.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0The Province<\/em>‘s article, Keith Higgins, UNIT\/PITT Projects’ Executive Director, said the work is valued at $1,000 and that the artist had lined up a buyer for the work after the show closed. Higgins said he thinks the theft was by a fan of Cornett’s work.<\/p>\n

UNIT\/PITT Projects’ website has a plea for the return of the work saying: \u00a0If you see the work, or are approached by someone wanting to sell it, please let us and the Vancouver Police Department<\/a> know. (Case number is VA13-175523.) We will also accept return of the work, no questions asked.<\/p>\n
