Kasini House Artshop<\/a> works with the Kolaj Magazine Artist Directory<\/a> to produce curated packs of the Collage Artist Trading Cards. Each card is a full colour, 5.5\u201d x 3.5\u201d postcard with rounded corners. An example of an artist\u2019s work is on the front of the card and the artist\u2019s public contact information is on the back. Collage Artist Trading Cards come in packs of 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can frame the cards you like as mini-prints; collect and curate your very own exhibition. You can also use the cards for discovering contemporary, fine art collage. We think they are a great way to be introduced to the artwork of collage artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collage Artist Trading Card packs provide an interesting foray into artist practice. Pack 8 is no different. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dior meets Winston Churchill in Georgi Georgiev’s minimalist collage. “Collage to me is about the immediacy and spontaneity of the process, in an attempt to remain uncensored,\u201d says Anouk Sug\u00e0r. Ryan Seaman \u201cbegan making collages to get away from the computer and for the chance to think in different ways.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professional photographer Jerome Bertrand learned collage from his mentor William Sanchez and his images often play with colour combinations, harmony and contrast. Kornelia Hoffmann comes to visual art from a career in fashion and design. Her collage deal with spaces, room conditions, their emotional meanings and their impressions on the body. Mail art was Eric Knight\u2019s entry into collage, but he gave up on mailing his art when the Post Office lost a love letter\/collage he sent to his girlfriend.<\/p>\n\n\n

Una Gildea pushes \u201cthe chuckle-button with narratives that always aim to open the chute direct to the subconscious, that provoke an intuitive, not literal, sense, of what\u2019s going on.\u201d James Springall uses collage to create alternate narratives and understandings of popular culture. Hayley Reynolds works with children and facilitates play for a living. She uses collage to reconcile childhood and adulthood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peter Boersma finds his inspiration in old documents, weathered books and magazines and uses a unique Scotch tape technique and, sometimes, a sewing machine. Natalie Ciccoricco uses embroidery thread in her collage, which explores different embroidery and weaving techniques on paper. Mark Vargo finishes his collage with ink, thread or pencil to complete each cohesive image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sylwia Kramarz wants to produce images that \u201cencourage a viewer to feel some emotion, that cause a reaction.” Susan Reedy is inspired by the innate beauty and intrinsic history of the source material she uses, as well as the sublime nature of the decaying beauty of walls that have accumulated their own sense of history over time. Taher Jaoui\u2019s use of old photographs, which he burns, comes from the idea of rebirth from the ashes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
