Belgian artist Strook<\/strong>‘s building-sized collage is on the cover of the issue. In her profile of the artist, Etty Yaniv writes, “The found wood pieces Strook fuses in his assemblages and the imagery he depicts in his collaged paintings manifest an act of revival: allocating fragmented elements of decay by making an artistic use for them and out of them.”<\/p>\n

In his editorial, Ric Kasini Kadour says, To heal the world, It\u2019s time to get together. John Stezaker<\/strong> exhibits for the first time in New Zealand. A group show at the Indianapolis Art Center<\/strong> in Indiana hits the mark. The prolific French artist, Guillaume Chiron<\/strong>, has a new exhibition and book. And the Crocker Art Museum<\/strong> in Sacramento, California shows off a number of African American collagists in an exhibition of recently collected art.<\/p>\n

We report on two events: World Collage Day<\/a><\/strong>, a celebration of collage takes place on 12 May 2018. Kolaj Fest New Orleans<\/a><\/strong>, a multi-day festival and symposium about contemporary collage and its role in art, culture, and society takes place July 12-15, 2018.<\/p>\n

Kevin Sampsell explores the mysterious vintage of Evan Clayton Horback<\/strong>. Sofia Misenheimer profiles Parisian artist Lilyluciole<\/strong> who uses collage portraiture to piece together \u201cunseen\u201d identities.<\/p>\n

We review Artists Who Make Books<\/strong><\/em> from Phaidon. Katharine Coldiron reviews a book of literary collage by Jez Burrows<\/strong>. And we check out runway fashion where we find Comme des Gar\u00e7ons Homme Plus showcasing Cecil Touchon<\/strong>‘s collage.<\/p>\n
