As a part of Kolaj Fest, Issue 008 of Antenna::Signals<\/em> examines the theme of \u201camalgamation\u201d, exploring the numerous ways in which fusion has taken place and continues to occur across multiple disciplines of human endeavor. The event features presentations and performances from notable New Orleans practitioners who have witnessed the effects of blending in personal and collective histories, including Malik Bartholomew, Manon Bellet, Amina Desselle, Brandon Lattimore, Soraya Jean-Louis McElroy, and more. MC\u2019d by Owen Ever.<\/p>\n

Conceived as a \u201clive arts magazine,\u201d Antenna::Signals<\/em> is a variety show-styled event from the artists and writers of Antenna. Each \u201cissue\u201d of Antenna::Signals<\/em> features a spread of 6-8 local artists, writers, musicians, scientists, activists and scholars whose practices relate thematically. The live magazine drops 4 times each year, accompanied by the release of a two-dimensional print publication.<\/p>\n

About Antenna<\/h2>\n

Antenna is a New Orleans-based non-profit organization committed to being a vital participant in the life of the city by creating and supporting artist- and writer-driven programs. Antenna Gallery has always emphasized emerging artists and young curators who focus on collaborations, group and solo shows featuring long-time local artists who are still underexposed, and challenging works of video and digital media; at the same time building partnerships with city-wide programming initiatives like Si Cuba and PhotoNOLA and national arts initiatives such as Independent Lens. The space was founded as a collaborative venture and continues to be run and maintained by a collective of artists that draws on the diverse strengths of its 13 members to create exciting and original artist-focused programs.<\/p>\n
