“The Pimptastic Adventures of Salty de Souffl\u00e9” is a solo show by the acclaimed Brighton-based artist. Salty studied graphics and illustration at Cumbria followed by a degree and post grad in computer graphics at Central Saint Martins.<\/p>\n

Salty loves to trawl flea markets and antique emporiums in her seaside hometown of Brighton and create whimsical kitsch pop collages from her discoveries. Sometimes surreal, sometimes absurd, always with a dash of humour, Salty invites the viewer to construct a narrative behind the characters and scenes depicted in her work.<\/p>\n

The artist said, “My process is inspired by the materials, since I work on found paintings\/prints and vintage photographs using mixed-media and collage. Sometimes you know right away how you’re going to use something, or perhaps it’ll be stored in ‘the pimping queue’ for years till the right moment or an idea forms. There’s a whole heap of great content waiting in that queue just waiting for its big moment. Could be next in the next half an hour. In fact, I’ll have to go and have a look now…”<\/p>\n
