STATEMENT

I create textures and patterns with various mediums, such as paint, ink, and pastels and then create forms and illustrations from this toolbox. I love to create humourous short stories about life.

BIO

Charline Barber is a French illustrator and graphic designer who was born in Montpellier in the South of France in 1992. She works predominantly in the medium of paper, such as magazines, newspaper and collage with lots of patterns or materials from which she can create interesting graphic pictures. Barber has a background in graphic design studies in Montreal (Baccalaureat from the Université du Québéc à Montréal), in Brussels (Bachelor’s Degree at École de recherche graphique) and in France (BTS in Graphic Design at École supérieure des métiers artistiques in Montpellier). She was able to see during her various travels a different way of approaching illustration, in particular in the story and the practice of the fanzine.
