STATEMENT

My approach is simple and direct. I generally apply a layer or two of acrylic paint to paper or canvas, then add pieces of torn collage, one at a time, from my bin of gathered materials. I tend to work quickly, without planning, until a piece achieves the kind of movement and balance that I like.

Jasper Glen is an emerging Canadian artist and poet based in Vancouver, British Columbia. His work appears or is forthcoming in The Brooklyn Review, A Gathering of the Tribes, Rogue Agent, Posit, Modern Poetry Review, Harpur Palate, Amsterdam Quarterly, Word For/Word, and elsewhere. Poems have been nominated for Best New Poets and the Pushcart Prize.
