STATEMENT

I begin each of my collages randomly, usually placing a cutout from a magazine at a corner or edge of the backing. I work my way around the backing, choosing subsequent cutouts that complement those laid down before. Edges of these cutouts sometimes serve as edges that radiate to opposing sides of the backing, giving the piece its structure. I choose titles for the pieces as they near the completion point, and the titles often allude to lines from literature or song lyrics.
