STATEMENT

I love collage because it is a process of discovery. I begin with sorting through materials–poring through images, patterns and textures until I find the ones that speak both to me and to each other. Oftentimes it starts as a meditation on an idea, a place, or a memory. I don’t look for specific images, but let the images reveal themselves to me. The tactile process of collage allows me to explore new worlds, relationships, and emotions without the use of the written word.
