STATEMENT

Lauren’s work explores romanticized images of couples and individuals in retro landscapes and scenes. Her work emphasizes moody and sometimes monochromatic color schemes of carefully layered images. Lauren works strictly with vintage ephemera to offer snapshots into different realms.

BIO

Although Lauren’s background is in education she has always enjoyed crafting in many mediums including glass, clay, metal, wood, and cloth. She began working with collage by first making copies of images and patterns onto transparency paper and working with layers. Since Lauren has always been a fan of anything retro it was no surprise when she began exploring ephemera from the 60’s and 70’s and creating landscapes from these materials. Lauren created Paste Market in 2018 and began selling at local markets and displaying at small galleries. She also started a collage meet-up where locals could come together and collage. She resides with her partner and kitten in Burlington, Vermont where she enjoys riding bikes and hiking when she is not collaging.
